WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT CLIMATE
CHANGE?
While many of the proposed methods of mitigating
global warming require governmental funding, legislation and regulatory
action, individuals can also play a part in the mitigation effort.
Environmental groups encourage individual action against global
warming, such as lowering home heating and cooling usage, burning
less gasoline, supporting renewable energy sources, buying local
products to reduce transportation, turning off unused devices, and
various others.
Major changes in our lifestyles are required to
reduce the degree of global warming caused by our actions on Earth.
There are many ways we can change our lifestyle to slow climate
change. These include:
• Reducing our consumption to reduce global warming
• Smarter shopping
• Discussing climate change with others
• Recycling to reduce global warming
• Energy efficient transport
• Protecting and planting trees
• Energy efficient products
• Using renewable energy to prevent climate change
• Carbon offsets to reduce global warming.
